Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the college has been playing an important role in guiding the students about their career and tries it's best to equip the students with the necessary life skills irrespective of their background. The placement cell place a crucial role in locating job opportunities for under-graduate students passing out from the college. The students of final year are guided and counselled for pursuance of Higher studies in different fields in order to increase the role of employability.
The cell plans to arrange training programs like Mock interviews , group discussions Guest Lectures, Personality Development Sessions and subject specific guidance to the students. These programs prepare the students for the changing workplace of the 21st century by broadening their knowledge, skills and abilities and making them responsible global citizens.
The following activities/ lectures have been conducted under the cell during the course of last one year:
1. Organized a lecture on Cyber Security and Blockchain as career choices for BA and BCom Graduates on 17th Nov 2022.
2.Organised a special lecture on prospects of Government jobs , interview patterns and résumé building by Mr Rajeev on 11 March 2023.
3.Local industries can play a key role in tapping local resources.Keeping this in view an application was submitted to the Labour Officer Barotiwala for the placement and recruitment of our students in the surrounding industries .
4. A guest lecture was held by a career counsellor and psychologist Dr Nidhi Soni on 14 March 2023.
5. Organised a lecture on Goal Setting and Career Planning on 18th sept 2023. The keynote speaker was Mr Rajeev from Nimbus Academy Chandigarh.

The following initiatives were taken under the cell this session:
• There was a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Nimbus Academy and Govt.College Barotiwala to guide students for various Centre and State Govt Examinations and impart sessions on strategy and basic concept building of the subjects.
• The cell organised a Guest Lecture on Career Planning and Goal setting on 18 th September 2023 in collaboration with Nimbus Academy Chandigarh. Mrs Rajeev conducted the session and highlighted the following points: 1. Career Awareness 2. Skill and Personality Development 3. Various career options at state and centre level. 4 Brief description of the syllabus for various Competitive exams.
• The cell organised a special lecture on opportunities as a Make- up Artist and Self Grooming Tips. To provide our students a glimpse into the world of professional and skilled makeup artistry Ms Ritu Singh from Kaya Kalap Herbals Baddi was invited in the college. She highlighted the following points: 1. The courses for students as make up artist . 2. How to turn your passion of makeup into a career. 3. Demonstration of steps involved in the make up. 4. She has offered to provide two day basic makeup course for interested college students.
• Career Counselling and Placement Cell of in collaboration with Job Coach organised a job fair in 27 December 2023. The team from Job coach headed by Prof ML Sahani conducted a workshop with students. The workshop started with the welcome note by the Convenor .135 students attended the session and 25 students underwent mock interviews conducted by job coach. The session helped the students to identify their Skill sets and develop a career strategy.
• The cell conducted Mock Interviews/ Interview Guidance for BCom /BA 3rd year students in February 2024. Mock interviews are an invaluable tool for college students as they transition from academia to the professional world. The experience gained from these simulated interviews contributes significantly to their readiness for real job interviews and career success.
